Laptop makers usually have a place where you can download reasonably uptodate drivers specific to your laptop.I was thinking that because on the site, it says that they're using Windows 8.1 and because they get higher fps I assumed that Windows 8.1 was better. Also update your drivers to the latest for all your hardware. You could have a look at what programs you have installed and remove any you no longer use. Windows 10 is a solid performer for games and is similar if not slightly better than 8.1. I am curious why you think Windows 8.1 would boost your performance.
